Cookbook author Colman Andrews, who won a James Beard Award for his 2009 tome The Country Cooking of Ireland, has a follow-up book out, The Country Cooking of Italy. Andrews is making only one stop through the Bay Area on his book tour and it’s this Sunday, February 26, at Camino in Oakland. Because it’s Oscar night, they’ve still got some seats left, and since the Oscars are bound to be more boring than usual this year, you may want to consider having this as an out.

The four-course menu is below, and the dinner will be preceded by a reception with snacks and book-signing with Andrews. Also, the menu is a collaboration between Andrews and Camino’s own Russell Moore.

Snacks:
Panelle
Fried cardoons
Potato croquettes
Toasts with olive paste
Toasts with liptauer

Menu:

Grilled sardine with fennel & blood orange salad

Wood oven-baked lasagnette with artichokes

Fire-roasted lamb leg, grilled lamb ribs and lamb spiedino with prosciutto and sage; with grilled chicories and roasted potatoes

Cauliflower with spicy anchovy sauce

Pomegranate sorbetto and sbrisolana

The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, and the price is $85 per person including wine, not including tip and tax. This includes some rosé during the reception/book signing.

Also note this upcoming Savoie wine dinner on March 8.
