A fundraiser is scheduled tonight from 5:00-10:00 P.M., featuring eight Boyle Heights street food vendors who were recently chased away by police. As part of the East L.A. Community Corporation’s efforts to bring local vendors above ground in their own legal marketplace and free from official intimidation, thereby resuscitating the neighborhood’s once stellar street food scene, a one-dollar admission fee buys access to vendors selling tacos, pozole, tamales, pupusas, and much more, with proceeds going to help with their equipment and vendor fees. So if you love L.A. street food, with a great cause attached, Boyle Heights is the place to be tonight at ELACC House, 530 S. Boyle Ave. Boyle Heights. [Mis Neighbors]
