The team that owns Upper East Side restaurants Barbaresco and Pane E Vino, as well as Lincoln Center spot Luce, has taken over the space that housed Trata at 1331 Second Avenue, and their executive chef Carlo Conti will oversee the new kitchen as well. The group plans to open Bottega next month, serving moderately priced Northern Italian fare. “There will be more of an emphasis on fish than at our other places,” notes partner Tony Mila. The 75-seat room will have an oyster bar; Trata customers will be pleased to know that there will still be some Mediterranean fish on display, and, just in time for spring, French doors will open onto a 50-seat outdoor café.
