Baconfest Adds Virant, Other Chefs, Announces Shifts

Baconfest 2012 is exactly two months away and it has now announced the shift breakdowns for both of the 2-1/2 hour sessions (3-1/2 if you have a VIP ticket, but they’re sold out). And those breakdowns include a number of new chefs, including Paul Virant of Perennial Virant (competing against Nathan Sears of his own Vie, incidentally), Todd Stein of The Florentine, and Thad Morrow of Champaign’s Bacaro. They also have an update on the beverage menu:

Our liquor and beer sponsors are providing our guests with tasty liquid refreshments. Goose Island, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Greenbush Brewery will be on hand with beer. Templeton Rye is whipping up a bacon/rye concoction, The Fifty/50 will be serving their “Wobble Stopper” - the official Bloody Mary of Baconfest, Bakon Vodka and the Piggery will be teaming up to do an assortment of bacon-cocktails, and Candid Wines/Santome will be on hand with Tenuta Santome Prosecco from Veneto, Italy, the official bubbles of Baconfest Chicago as well as still wine from Girasole Vineyards in Mendocino California. We’re still finalizing details with a few other liquor sponsors, so more may be announced soon.

The one thing still not announced: when regular tickets go on sale. See the shift breakdowns below.
