Is Zing! Pizza closed for good? The Porter Square pizzeria (motto: “fresh! inspired! oblong!”) cultivated a following with healthy, gluten-free pies. Now, though, it seems that the virtuous pie purveyor has vanished in search of a new owner.

Their website says that they’re “going through a reorganization and will be closed until further notice.” They hope to announce a reopening soon, per the site. However, an enterprising Yelper “recognized a Zing employee on the street” recently and apparently probed further into the mystery. “The impression I got was that the owner is looking to sell the business,” the Yelper laments.

This lines up with a classified ad that we unearthed on the Interwebs: “Unique organic pizza shop with huge following only 300 feet from extremely busy T stop needs mom and pop or mom and mom or really any talented food entrepreneur who can be there. Absentee owner has built great brand, but has been unable to make it financially viable. HUGE catering at local universities and biotechs utapped. Menu is tiny and can be expanded. Price $100,000 firm. Only serious emails please.”

Did Zing pizza zing its fans? Or will it return, better than ever, with a new owner? For what it’s worth, their Facebook page is still up and running.
