If you’re the superstitious type, today being Friday the 13th likely has you a little freaked out. But if you’re a fearless lover of craft beers, you’re probably slipping into you’re drinking pants and getting stoked about the Grey Lodge Pub’s Friday the Firkinteenth fest. It kicks off today at 12 noon, and goes until each and every barrel of sweet cask conditioned suds runs dry. And lucky for you, today marks the first of three times the most luckless number falls of a Friday. In 2012, Grey Lodge will be lining the bar with firkins in April and again in July. As with Firkinteenth celebrations of yore, you can count on seeing dozens of cask conditioned ales, the majority of which are special one-off brews from local and far away breweries. Some highlights include the debut of Flying Fish’s latest, Scarlet Fever, a West Coast-style hoppy red ale, Desiato Cider (a Firkinteenth first), and a cask of Old Speckled Hen. Keep reading to see what else is in the lineup.
