Do you suffer from nosebleeds? No problem! We’ve got just the, uh, cure: bacon! The Guardian reveals that a new study from the Detroit Medical Center recommends “nasal packing with strips of cured pork” as an effective method of treating uncontrollable nosebleeds.

“Cured salted pork crafted as a nasal tampon and packed within the nasal vaults successfully stopped nasal hemorrhage promptly, effectively, and without sequelae,” notes the groundbreaking study, which should also get credit for most likely coining “nasal tampon,” the most repulsive term we’ve heard all week.
