Mouse Hunt: Rodent Video Puts McDonald’s on the Defensive

While hardly a rapid response, McDonald’s and a Philadelphia-area franchisee are finally taking action in response to a video leaked last week that shows a mouse having a field day inside a plastic bag full of Big Mac buns. The dismissed employee who shot the video maintains that such a scene was not an unusual one at that McDonald’s location, and that the owner instructed employees to simply wipe mouse droppings off the buns before using them.

Now that same owner is telling Fox News that the video is “not representative of the standards of cleanliness” at his restaurant, and that he takes “this matter seriously.” How seriously? He’s hired an independent party to “assess and treat” it. He should probably hire an exterminator while he’s at it.
