Chicago’s Green City Market returns after a winter hiatus this Saturday, January 21, at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, where it will run inside until May. Chef demos at the market begin Saturday at 10:30 with Matthias Merges of Yusho doing the cooking and demoing. There’s also a Superbowl Chili Cookoff Contest as a kickoff for those shopping the market this weekend— buy your ingredients at the market, submit your recipe by end of business on Monday, January 23. Finalists will then bring their chili for judging on Saturday, February 4. Winners in three different categories (Chefs’ Choice, People’s Choice, and Most Innovative) will receive a ticket to the Green City Market BBQ in July.
