In the wake of a letter written by Staff Meal’s Adam Gendreau, calling on the city to centralize food trucks, the director of Boston’s food initiative program is reviewing the current truck system. Right now the city is evaluating less successful spots and deciding where to open new food-truck locations, Edith Murnane says. “In order to add a food truck spot the city must remove a metered parking spot … a spot that could be used by someone visiting brick-and-mortar restaurants or shops,” the Globe reports. Murnane says it’s a “balancing act.” We’re all for removing parking meters. And meter maids, too. [Globe, Earlier]
