The back to back blows of the Far From Home truck calling it quits, and the closing of Hoof + Fin nearly rubbed out our empanada scene last year. But for those left with a hankering for their deep fat-fried comfort, there’s good news. A new truck, Delicias, which has been setting up shop near 34th and Market since the beginning of the year, is putting empanadas back on the street. Midtown Lunch-ers report that the truck is run by two Venezuelan women, and that in addition to empanadas, they’re truning out an impressive selection of meat-stuffed arepas and choripan, a sausage sandwich.
