Dungeness crab season is in full swing, and as we learned a couple weeks back, now is the time to be eating it because you’ll only see local Dungeness in the markets and on menus for another month or so, after which the crab we’ll be getting will come from points north. Today, 7x7 offers up a selection of places that do a good plate o’ Dungeness, including Sutro’s down on the Wharf; Starbelly, which is doing special crab dinners on the patio announced on Facebook; Swan Oyster Depot; and Bar Bocce in Sausalito, where they do a crab pizza. To their list we’d add Camino in Oakland, where they’re doing great wood-fire grilled crab with aioli; AQ, where they’ve got an excellent dish with toasted barley and Dungeness on the menu for another week or so; the brand new Parallel 37, opening tonight, where Ron Siegel’s doing a crab salad; and Cotogna, where they’ve brought back their delicious tagliolini with Dungeness.
