It may be Monday night, but there’s a lot going on, if one of these won’t get you out of the house, you’re already dead:
• Join Chicago Bears player Charles Tillman tonight for drinks, passed hors d’oeuvres, Bears memorabilia for sale and more at Texas de Brazil, 51 E. Ohio, tonight from 6:30 to 8:30. Tickets are $50 and support the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation helping children and families in need in Chicago.
• Sabor Saveur invites you to experience Mexican art with a four-course special dinner by chef Yanitzin Sanchez, themed to favorite Mexican artists. 1st ward Alderman Joe Moreno is co-host for this event, which begins at 6:30 with appetizers and mingling, and is $57 and BYO. For reservations call 773-235-7310.
• 79 years ago, Prohibition was repealed. To celebrate the fact that never again would America ruin lives and encourage the growth of criminal organizations in the name of protecting adults from their own lifestyle choices, there’s a party at Salud tonight featuring mixologists from The Purple Pig, The Drawing Room and Sable mixing up Prohibition-era classics like Negronis and Gibsons, along with a taco bar (okay, the 1930s theme kind of falls apart here). It’s from 8 to midnight and it’s free to get into; RSVP sergioserna1982@gmail.com or dan@highproofchicago.com. [312 Dining Diva]
