Beloved and profane local cooking instructor Mary Risley, of Tante Marie’s Cooking School, is capitalizing on the viral popularity of her Thanksgiving YouTube effort, titled “Just Put the F**king Turkey in the Oven,” and today she returns with a new holiday-themed video called “Just Pound the Peppercorns.” This of course doesn’t have the same nice ring to it, but it nonetheless features some of her signature, no-fuss advice for cooking a steak au poivre dinner to treat yourself during the holidays.
She opens by relaying this tale: “Last night I was in a restaurant, and everybody in the restaurant had seen me in my last video on turkey … EVERYBODY. And people kept walking buy going ‘Are you the fucking turkey lady?’ and I said ‘Yeah I am.’ … Young people really listen to you if you say ’fuck.’”
