Vicky and Joey Wang, the brother and sister founders of Alhambra’s OZERO by Cofftea, are bringing their flavored Taiwanese teas to Downtown, with plans to open aside The Flying Pig Cafe in early January. OZERO is expanding both in our city and in Taiwan, where an OZERO opened in Kaoshiung in 2009,. Currently, Vicky is handling the States and Joey is concentrated on opening stores in Taipei and Shanghai. And what’s going down Downtown?

The forthcoming Downtown OZERO store is being designed by Tag Front, the forces behind Takami and BOA. The store will include the expected selection of milk tea, “teazers,” and flavored teas (including tastes like lavender, kumquat lemon, rose, mango, lychee, passionfruit, and chrysanthemum with grass jelly), hot and cold coffees, shaved ice, and Taiwanese savories like fried calamari balls, wonton soup, brick toast, and popcorn chicken. And if it’s anything like the SGV locale, it should be slammed.

OZERO by Cofftea, coming to 131 S. Central Ave. Downtown.
