Legendary South Side Pie Company Makes A Comeback

Good news for old school Chicagoans: the Sun-Times reports that legendary South Side pie company Fasano Pies is looking to make a comeback after shutting down 25 years ago. The company, which began as a pie wagon in 1927, is being resurrected by its third generation, Peter Fasano. A pie wagon? Why, that would make an excellent food truck! Ah, but it is! Coming full circle, Fasano has beaten us to the punch and is taking advantage of the food truck trend to deliver the pies to businesses and private residences in the west suburbs.

Baking out of a rented kitchen, Fasano is currently making cherry, apple, pumpkin, pecan, and blueberry pies, which sell for $16 each. Currently, the pies are being delivered in the west suburbs of Downers, Lisle, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Western Springs, and La Grange, as Fasano searches for a permanent location for the bakery. In the meantime, pies can be ordered by calling 630-400-5600.
