Remember that brewing (or should we say fermenting?) insider-y wine-world scandal we mentioned last week involving influential Wine Advocate critic Jay Miller? Long story short, blogger Jim Budd claimed to have evidence of a pay-to-play deal involving Spanish wineries and a visit from Miller, and Miller’s boss Robert Parker insisted it was all malarkey and threatened to sue. Well, today we learn that Miller is resigning, even though he swears up and down it had nothing to do with these allegations (“Nothing could be further from the truth.”) and that his departure was planned well before these spurious claims came to light. Regardless, at least one wine blogger, Blake Gray, is quite happy to see Miller go. [Decanter, Gray Market Report, Scoop]
