A few weeks back we mentioned that former Gitane barkeep Alex Smith was headed across the bay to open a new bar in Emeryville called Honor. Today we discover via the Scoop that the place will be a full-service restaurant with food by chef Jordan Grosser of the Stag Dining Group (formerly of Postrio), and they’re opening right after New Year’s, on January 3.
Check out the fun food and drink menus below, with drink-friendly items like fried chicken (called “bucket o’ yard birds”), Texas mop short ribs, and fried artichokes. Also note that Smith has brought with him the passion for and knowledge of sherry, honed at Gitane, and incorporated it into his cocktail list here.
