As mentioned earlier, we don’t know whether or not Hop Sing laundromat will open before the end of 2011, but what we do know is, a relocated Fish will in fact be open on New Year’s Eve. A Fish insider told Grub that Mike Stollenwerk and his crew are still in the throes of applying some finishing touches to the restaurant’s new digs at 13th and Locust, but in spite of that, they will open from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on December 31 for sneak preview/New Year’s celebration that’s open to the public. The cost is $35 per person, which will cover shucked-to-order oysters and other raw bar goodies, as well as “heavy” passed hors d’oeuvres, which will likely include shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, charcuterie and some surprises. Libations will be available via a cash bar. A proper opening to the public is slated for the following week.
