Sutton’s Annual Top Ten; Asimov Gives Two Stars to Seäsonal

Ryan Sutton rounds up his picks for the best restaurants of 2011. He loves Roberta’s, Kin Shop, and Ai Fiori, and claims the Dutch has made Minetta Tavern “irrelevant.” The top spot goes to Tertulia. [Bloomberg]

“Tables for Two” hits Gastón Acurio’s La Mar Cebicheria and says the ceviche is ” if not a revelation, certainly far better than average.” However, “some dishes fare less well,” including a “mystifyingly insipid” chicken. [NYer]

Eric Asimov heads to Seäsonal, where “much of the food seems hyper-designed, almost sculptural, barely resembling the simple list of ingredients that constitute menu descriptions.” He loves the wine, and much of the food, and gives the spot two stars. [NYT]

Steve Cuozzo is underwhelmed by Mediterranean spot Morso, where he finds things “less so.” The restaurant is “haunted by past glories that a cutesy, confusing menu fails to resurrect.” [NYP]

Robert Sietsema says Brooklyn’s Littleneck is all about “great shellfish — cockles, oysters, mussels, and clams, clams, clams.” The burger is “fine, but predictable,” but the fries are terrific, as is the clam roll, “featuring full-belly littlenecks with creamy tartar sauce and a few shreds of lettuce for color contrast.” [VV]
