And you’re invited! The produce palace next door to Barbara Lynch’s Stir and The Butcher Shop is a welcome addition to the South End (which has seen its share of market mishaps). It’s also run by Chris Kurth, who just so happens to be Ana Sortun’s husband. Naturally, this block party is a bit more upscale than the ones we’re used to.

The soiree happens from 1 ‘til 4 this Sunday. Drop into Stir for free libations and snacks prepared by Lynch herself, then do your last-minute shopping browse their cookbook sale. (You’ll get 20 percent off all cookbooks, and 40 percent off cookbook bundles and stocking stuffers.) Next door, Siena will also have a full spread, plus gift ideas and delicacies from Sortun’s Sofra. Bonus: Both chefs will both be on hand to sign their cookbooks (Stir and Spice, respectively).

Finally, brush up on your knife skills before butchering your hapless holiday turkey at The Butcher Shop’s pâté and porchetta demonstration, which starts at 2 p.m. Yes, they’ll also have impossibly good-looking food for sale, too.
