Where to Eat in Reno These Days

When you think of Reno you probably think of pawn shops, Reno 911, and the tacky/fantastic casinos that are mostly holdovers from another era of casino architecture. But there’s been a citywide effort at revitalizing the area around downtown, which includes some hip and often decent eats. In Sunday’s Chronicle, Carey Sweet rounds up a few of her favorites, including eleven-year-old “fine dining enterprise” Lulou’s, super popular breakfast joint Peg’s Glorified Ham n Eggs, and nine-month-old barbecue spot Man Wielding Fire. We’ve also heard good things about Old Granite Street Eatery, and Dish Café is a cool brunch spot too. [Chron, Grub Street]
