Tupelo, now softly open.
As Grub Street reported last month, the Southern trend has come to North Beach too in the form of Tupelo (1337 Grant Street), a new bar/restaurant with food from a former Fog City Diner and Chow chef, Mark Danziger. The partners behind the venture are hoping this will be the kind of place where music is always playing, usually of the live variety, but from the early Yelpings it doesn’t sound like they’ve launched that aspect yet. And word has it the place still feels more like a bar than a restaurant (it was formerly home to Mojito), but we can’t speak to that until we see it.
