It’s hard to distinguish between Michael “Bao” Huynh’s current establishments, closed joints, plans in the pipeline, legit dreams (like that one with the Playboy “buny” [sic]), and pure bao-crap — and we don’t really want to. Because living in Bao-topia, which Grub Street had the pleasure of doing last night at New York Taste, is something like being in ideas-and-fish-sauce wonderland. “I’m opening BaoBQ next!” Uh-huh, we’ve heard of that one. What else? (Because we had a few thoughts of our own.) “Shish Ka-Bao! It’s opening soon in the East Village.” Not bad! But is that one pho real? “Yes, it’s happening. Why wouldn’t it? Soon!” Okay, just go with it.
