Are you an armchair recipe developer with a few hundred Twitter followers who wants to rub elbows with “food blogger royalty” like Elise from Simply Recipes and Pim from Chez Pim? Then you may want to check out the Third Annual Foodbuzz Food Blogger Festival this weekend in San Francisco. The fun kicks off Friday, November 4, with a reception and awards show for the food-blog elite, and continues Saturday with a heavily sponsored Taste Pavilion on the fourth floor of the Metreon, in which many a pasta sauce- and condiment-maker will pimp their products tirelessly in the hope of building widespread social-media buzz.
Also, everyone attending will have big cameras slung around their necks, and will take many pictures of little dishes, and pictures of each other taking pictures. We think it’s an invite-only sort of conference, but if you have a blog and didn’t know about this, feel free to email them at email@example.com and they’ll probably let you in.
In addition to hosting this festival, Foodbuzz is reponsible for Project Food Blog, an annual contest which serves as an incubator of sorts for thousands of budding food bloggers, with a grand prize of $10,000 for the winning blogger.
Below, see a video recap of the first annual fest, held in 2009.
