The name includes the comma: Dear Mom,

Dear Mom, the new bar with a built-in comma from two Thieves Tavern bartenders, Oliver Piazza and Jay Beaman (in partnership with Thieves owner Paul Bavaro) that we broke the news about over the summer, swings open its doors tonight 2700 16th Street (at Harrison, the former El Rincon). As Lady Tablehopper reports, because their liquor license just arrived, “the opening tonight will have some canned beer and a whiskey or two.” But expect a major selection of 80+ bourbons, 20 ryes, 20 scotches, and a bunch of tap beer to arrive in the coming days/weeks. Also, they’re hoping to appeal to industry folk with a Sunday “bartender brunch” served from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The rotating food menu we showed you earlier is likely to evolve, and there will be daily specials as well, courtesy of Chez Spencer chef and reality TV star Laurent Katgely.
