Chaya’s Venison Burger

Last night Chaya Venice launched its two-week “Venison Fair” menu, finding four indulgent platings of the game meat added to its usual fare. Kicking off with a venison chili con carne with country bread at $21, we’ve heard some early praise for this $22 venison burger you see above, served on sourdough with an apple tomato chutney and a side of sweet spuds. Also included in the selection are venison meatballs with a sauce of late Momotaro tomatoes on spaghetti for $23 and the piece de resistance, roasted venison served with a blueberry black peppercorn sauce, priced at $42.
