As we reported earlier, Trader Joe’s is hoping to land in the Nob Hill environs in 2012, on the site of the funky Cala Foods “wondermart” (California and Hyde) with the ever-so mid-20th-century wings on its roofline. Cala’s official closing date is December 3, as The Tender now tells us, and on December 15 there’ll be a public hearing about TJ’s plan, which we are guessing will not face too much resistance.
