Oh, my! We fancy ourselves burrito connoisseurs here at Grub Street, but we’ve never seen anything quite like this. The Phantom Gourmet aired a show featuring Twitter titan Boston Tweet recently, and on it we learned that Anna’s Taqueria burritos can be made into unique, Muppet-like creatures.
There’s a Hurricane Irene commemorative burrito, saddled with what appears to be a windblown lettuce toupee. (“His hair’s kind of blowing off,” Boston Tweet, whose real name is Tom O’Keefe, explains.) A “sad” burrito has two lopsided black-bean eyes and a bite taken out of his head. And a Boston Marathon burrito sports a tinfoil track suit and bandana. “Absolute genius!” Phantom’s Dan Andelman declares, doing his best Joan Rivers.
