First Look at Alobar, LIC’s New Source for Sausage and Beer
A while back we brought you the news that Alobar would open in Long Island City, and last night the restaurant debuted at last. The menu will be changing over the next few weeks, but check out the New American lineup of charcuterie (some of it house-cured), cheese, and pickles, plus large and small plates (highlights: roasted bone marrow, mussel-and-clam potpie). The drinks list roves through a curated beer lineup, cocktails, whiskey, and wines. Alobar is dinner-only for now, though owner Jeff Blath tells us he hopes to start brunch over Thanksgiving weekend, since “there isn’t a brunch scene in LIC right now”; lunch will follow, as well. See the space and some dishes in our slideshow, and peruse the menus, below.
