What to Eat at The Butcher and The Burger, Opening Today

Al Sternweiler was the chef at Harvest on Huron and the Allen in Allen’s New American Cafe, both where Graham Elliott is now. Now he just wants to make you a burger, fries and a shake. Or sell you the parts to make at least the burger yourself. Reflecting a bold conviction that people are willing and eager to know exactly where their burger is coming from, The Butcher & The Burger is just what its name suggests— an old-fashioned butcher shop on one side, a burger joint on the other. The other novelty in their burger-making is a collection of spice blends which can be worked into the meat. And like a truckstop, since they’re open at breakfast hours, they’ll make you a burger at those hours, with eggs on the side. Here’s what to order from the burger side of this new spot for serious meat-eating.
