San Francisco Magazine just unveiled a pretty and much more easily navigable website yesterday, and on it we notice one of Josh Sens’s recent short-form reviews (the reviews were always a little tough to find on the former site) for Bluestem Brasserie. He notes, “The dining room is run by Adam Jed, a veteran of Gavin Newsom’s PlumpJack Group, who works hard to generate an air of intimacy. But the place still calls to mind the former mayor himself: handsome, outsize, a shade corporate.” He adds, though, that chef Sean Canavan’s food “is more compelling than its surrounds.” The verdict: two stars.
