Chicago Marathoners have a couple of special offers this weekend to make the sweating sweeter. Kimpton’s Palomar Chicago hotel at 505 N. State in River North plans a complimentary coffee, tea and breakfast bar for participants and any spectators they bring along, Sunday morning before the race. While Cafe Spiaggia will offer an order of housemade gelato on the house to any diner showing their race registration forms; flavors at the moment are Power Bar, Camelbak, and— just kidding, try concord grape, salted caramel or the especially race-friendly oatmeal stout. Then, this Sunday through next Sunday, show your medal proving you ran, and they’ll treat you to a glass of wine. Both Cafe Spiaggia offers require purchase of an entree.
