We noted, after the fracas yesterday that was the 2012 Michelin Guide announcement for S.F., that Commonwealth probably deserved a place, if not on the star list then at least on the Bib Gourmand list (just ask Bon App or GQ). Michelin inspectors managed to make it to the Mission to honor Flour + Water and Delfina with a Bib, and Saison with two stars, but apparently the Mission Street corridor itself remains too dicey for top honors. When we asked them, via Twitter, what gives, all we got was the pat “just because it wasn’t a Bib or star this year doesn’t mean it was overlooked,” referring to some nice words they must have said about Commonwealth in the listing in the printed guide, which we haven’t yet received in the mail.
