McNally’s Taps Butterbeer to Mark the Begining of Harry Potter Weeeknd; Blocktoberfest Promises More Beer, More Food, More Awesomeness

Chestnut Hill: McNally’s Tavern will be pouring a special house-brewed, cider-based “Butterbeer,” Baker Street Bread Co. will be serving Butterbeer Bread, and Roller’s Express-O will have Fire Bolt Quesadillas on hand as these and 35 or so other businesses in the neighborhood Harry Potter Weekend. South Street (West of Broad): Blocktoberfest, which takes place on South Street between Broad and 17th streets this year, is promising more beer, more food, more blocks and faster service. Music lined up includes Cheers Elephant, The Walkmen, Kuf Knotz and dozens more. Pumpkin, Chewy’s, Dapper Dog and others will be serving food, and Bella Vista Beverage will be pouring beers at multiple locations. [Blocktoberfest]

South Street (East of Broad): The forever vacant properties at 216 and 218 South that have house everything from Lorenzo’s II to Malokai’s to Club 218, is reportedly being transformed into a new pho spot. [Naked Philly]

Center City: Reading Terminal Market hosts its annual Harvest Festival on Saturday with tractor-drawn hayrides, bluegrass bands, caramel apples, cider donuts and tons of food. [RTM]

Fishtown: Stephen Starr’s Frankford Hall keeps Oktoberfest rocking on Saturday with a performance by the Ja Ja Jas, plus a special selection of festy beers and German fare. [uwishunu]
