This Is What Happens When … You Screw John Fraser

Retribution.
Retribution.

The liquor-license issues at What Happens When were a headache for John Fraser from the start, ultimately shutting down the ambitious pop-up four months too soon. Now Fraser is suing the three attorneys who, he says, were at the root of all evil. According to Reuters, “John Fraser, currently the chef and proprietor of Dovetail on the Upper West Side, filed suit Wednesday in state Supreme Court in Manhattan against attorneys Bruno Gioffre Jr., Anthony DiFiore and Guy Parisi. The lawsuit alleges that the attorneys’ malpractice caused the failure of Fraser’s restaurant What Happens When, resulting in more than $1 million in damages.” A demoralized Fraser tells Reuters that the whole thing makes him “sad.” He wants $1 million in damages, plus attorneys’ fees.
