Tortillas

Wrapper’s Delight?

You win some, you lose some: Mistral’s Jamie Mammano has opened up a tortilla shop in Chelsea, the Globe reports, which is sure to please the Chowhounders who complain about how hard it is to find good tortillas in town. His tortilleria, La Nina, sells what he considers to be the only 100 percent corn tortillas north of New York City. (Remember that Temazcal’s Todd Hall told the world a few months ago that most of Boston’s quesadilla tortillas are about “30 days old,” so maybe he’ll have something say about this development.) Meanwhile, over in the South End, Stella’s Evan Deluty’s proposed Latin American-influenced restaurant has been shot down after a series of “heated” community meetings in which his request for a liquor license was contested.
