Celebrity attorney Gloria Allred is back on the case of “Flappers in Their Fifties.” Fox News reports that Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City tried to prevent her from representing the nine former servers who are suing the gaming hall after they were fired for reportedly being too flabby to fit into the new trampy skimpy flapper costumes instituted over the summer, charging that she is not licensed in New Jersey. The flapper garb, by the way, is one of the ideas the casino came up with for the Roaring 20s vibe its chasing to capitalize on the success of the HBO program Boardwalk Empire. A Superior Court judge has ruled that Allred, who’s made a career out of collecting multimillion-dollar settlements in high profile sexual harassment and gender inequality cases, can stay on the case. There’s no word yet on when the case will be heard. [myfoxphilly]
