Fishing Shrimp Truck Roams Ditmas Park; Earl’s Court Brings More Lunch Options to FiDi

Ditmas Park: Be on the lookout for the Fishing Shrimp Truck, a ten-day-old food truck traversing the streets of Brooklyn selling dishes like fish and chips and fried shrimp. [New York Street Food]

Park Slope: Bark Hot Dogs, along with Gasland and United for Action, will be hosting a special dinner and film screening on Wednesday, November 9. For $30 per person, guests will watch a screening of the film, which focuses on the dangers of “fracking” or hydraulic fracturing within the gas industry, and be treated to a menu that includes crispy red kuri squash; choucroute garni with Hawthorne Valley sauerkraut; bratwurst; young potatoes and grainy mustard; and a “million dollar cake” made with vanilla custard, bananas, whipped cream, and a pecan shortbread crust. There will also be a selection of Sixpoint ales on tap to wash it all down. Twenty-five percent of sales from the evening will go to Gasland and tickets can be purchased here. [Grub Street]
Soho: Next Monday, November 7, from 7 to 10 p.m., David Burke Kitchen is hosting a Bourbon & Bluegrass dinner that will pair “inventive bourbon concoctions and house made infusions” with a four-course dinner, all for $95 per person (not including tax and gratuity). Menu items include bison tartar, spice-crusted wild boar chop, and a bourbon banana tart tatin. Dinner-time tunes will be provided by Jason Bertone’s Bluegrass Band.
