In a characteristically forthright interview with Fortune, Danny Meyer says that Shake Shack accounts for one third of his earnings, and that coming to Westport, Connecticut (every desperate housewife and prep-school pothead’s dream) could indicate a wider small-town plan. Also, apparently Meyer was once a Grease fetishist, telling the magazine that the Shake Shack name came from the “You’re the One That I Want” dance finale, which had an amusement park joint called Shake Shake in the background.
