Over on Danny Meyer’s Twitter feed, it’s apparent the stakes are high with renowned Philly chef Marc Vetri (who’s been in New York this week promoting his new cookbook, Rustic Italian Food). Yesterday, Meyer tweeted, “@marcvetri Phillies-Cardinals bet? Whosever team wins treats the other guy to dinner at one of his joints,” to which Vetri replied, “@dhmeyer very confident statement… You’re on! #dinner4twoatEMP.” The deciding baseball playoffs game between the two teams is today. We’ll leave it to our brother blog The Sports Section to predict who wins, but since Meyer won’t be able to give away Eleven Madison Park dinners for very much longer, Vetri’s possibly in for the better deal.
