In case you needed even more reason to get psyched about new restaurants opening this fall, it seems Stateside, the all-American spot coming soon to East Passyunk Ave., will have former Barbuzzo (and before that dearly departed Bindi) chef George Sabatino on the pots and pans when it debuts. Meal Ticket reports that since leaving Barbuzzo earlier this year, Sabatino has been helping out at Pub & Kitchen. Details for Stateside remain few and fuzzy now, but there’s talk of many small plates, cheese and charcuterie and focus on small, domestic producers. And whiskey, lots and lots of whiskey. Owners Stephen Slaughter and William Bonforte, who also own the mounting Green Eggs empire, are reportedly going to do a preview pop-up at one of their cafes soon. We’ll keep you posted.
