If you’ve never managed to nab tickets to that food tour Calvin Trillin does every year for The New Yorker Festival (tickets sell out in about seventeen seconds, we’ve found), here’s another chance to hear the great writer and humorist discourse on subjects edible. On November 7, the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation will host Much Ado About Noshing from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Astor Center. Along with the family that runs Russ & Daughters, Trillin will discuss “food, history, and community”; appetizing snacks will be served. Food nerds with $250 to blow on tickets, this sounds like your bag. Full details here.
