Via a liquor license transfer in the works, we spied that the Liberty Café (410 Cortland Avenue) in Bernal Heights is being taken over by Vega Pizza owner Vega Freemanbrady. Calling the Liberty “a pillar of the neighborhood,” Freemanbrady tells the Scoop that she plans to give the place some sprucing, revise the menu, and she plans to keep it as the Liberty Café without any downtime.
