The most important thing to know about the Spermbar, shooting into the streets of New York Saturday, September 17, from 2 to 6 p.m., is that proper sperm is not on the ingredient list. As part of an installation with the French Institute Alliance Française, French artist Prune Nourry will bring the online sperm-bank shopping experience to Museum Mile via a nonalcoholic cocktail truck, with drinks made by Rouge Tomate’s Chrisian Molina. Men are being asked to “donate” online, which isn’t as Internet-porny as it sounds, just a form about height, weight, and overall physicality. Then, based on donors’ physical attributes, the artist and mixologist will make customized cocktails that pedestrians can choose based on their looks preferences. So whether you’re into redheads, big hands, or the prematurely balding, they’ll bang something out.
The Spermbar will be parked at 972 Fifth Avenue, between 78th and 79th Streets. It’s free. And, you know, won’t last too long.
