In a mad rush to get them finished before the big Oracle convention that starts on Monday, the good folks at the W Hotel have been cracking the whip on their contractors to finish the major remodel of their lobby area, lobby bar, and the upstairs library bar by this Friday — two weeks ahead of schedule. As we discussed earlier, the design will blend seamlessly with the new Upstairs Bar and Trace restaurant, designed by architect Stanley Saitowitz, which opened a few weeks ago. So look for more of the city-grid-inspired floor covering, architectural furniture, and fog-like drapery. [Grub Street]
