While a possible revival seems to be brewing for Tavern on the Green in Central Park, that deal to buy the Tavern name for $1.3 million has gone through, reports Diner’s Journal. As mentioned earlier, Louis Bivona had been using the Tavern name on a line of salad dressings, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity. Now his company will be able to license the Tavern on the Green name to restaurants anywhere outside the New York metro area. Brace yourselves for Kiev, we suppose — or maybe just Tavern on the Green Pasadena. [Diner’s Journal/NYT, Earlier]
