Mozzeria Delayed; Rum and Gin Classes Tomorrow; and More

Mission: Mozzeria, the new Neapolitan pizza joint coming to the former Il Cantuccio spot on 16th Street, is facing a few new hurdles — not the least of which is the building was declared historic over the summer, and the Historic Preservation Commission is now trying to argue that Mozzeria has to rip out the modern facade Il Cantuccio put in and redo as more consistent with the other half of the building. ETA for the restaurant is still unknown. [Grub Street]
SoMa: Two cocktail classes at the Boothby Center (1161 Mission) that you might want to consider, as part of your Cocktail Week education: Rum is Fun with Cantina’s Duggan McDonnell, Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m.; and a hands-on gin cocktail class with bar star Scott Beattie at 6 p.m. Both are $25 in advance, $35 at the door. [Grub Street]
Tenderloin: Venerable soup kitchen St. Anthony’s (150 Golden Gate) is hosting their birthday block-party/BBQ this weekend, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and you are free to join the colorful crowd in attendance to get free BBQ yourself. They’re planning to feed 10,000. [SFoodie]
Sacramento: Do you get up there much? We don’t. But in case you do, Eater National has just put together a Heat Map of where to eat now in SacTown. [Eater]
