McCrossen’s Tavern Takes on Restaurant Week; Hosts Cheese Mongers

Yesterday we mentioned that Franklin Mortgage was shaking up some much needed relief to industry workers burned out by Restaurant Week. Today comes word that McCrossen’s Tavern, which has been stepping up its game considerably since Chef Townsend Wentz took the helm last year, is dishing up an alternative for restaurant diners. Like the twice annual smash-and-grab restaurant promo, McCrossen’s doles out a three-course prix fixe special, but it comes for $5 less than Restaurant Week’s deals.

The special menu (check it out below) is available nightly through the end of the week.

Along with its Anti-Restaurant Week specials, tonight McCrossen’s hosts its monthly Beer and Cheese pairing. Matt Pushinksy from Belukus (US importer of specialty UK and Belgian brews) and Rocco Rainone from DiBruno Bros. will be on hand to discuss the particulars of pairing cheeses with McCrossen’s brews, which includes a new Belgian import that’s brewed in the same manner as Champagne. Four dishes and cheese costs $16.
