The Times reveals the new Uniqlo campaign today showcasing some of New York’s most beautiful, but relatable, personalities: Esperanza Spalding, the superstar jazz musician; John Leguizamo; Laura Linney; and … David Chang. Chang says looking at Uniqlo jeans is like looking at a Momofuku menu, “Their business philosophy, that clothes don’t have to be for a select few, happens to align with some of our business principles.” But he’s more than a pretty face. The real reason Chang struck a pose? Charity, of course! “Uniqlo promised to ‘donate money to a charity of our choice,’ a garden at P.S. 216 in Gravesend, Brooklyn, that is the first New York affiliate of the Edible Schoolyard program.” Watch out for those modelizers, Chef. They like your restaurants! [NYT]
